Appointments

All appointments can be made by calling reception (686968).

Same day appointments are limited, telephone the practice at 08:00am on the day it is needed.  You will be asked for details which will be noted on your appointment.

Where possible appointments should be made in advance. The easiest way to do this is to sign up to Patient Access and book online or via the mobile phone app. You can also call reception on 686968. We do not offer a drop-in service.

If you are unable to attend, or wish to cancel your appointment: text your name, DOB, and date and time of the appointment to 468468.

Home Visits

Where possible we ask that you attend the surgery for your appointments. If you are too ill to get here, please call 686968 before 10:00am and request a home visit.

You will be asked for details about your illness which will be passed on to the doctors.

Telephone Recording

For reasons of legal liability, training and monitoring all telephone calls are recorded. These recordings are strictly confidential and dealt with in the same way as patients’ medical records.

Chaperones

If you need to have an intimate examination, the doctor or nurse will always ask if you wish to have someone with you, or standing discretely elsewhere in the room. Please ask if you wish to have a member of our reception staff or a nurse present at any time during any consultation. We are quite happy to provide this service.

How do I get the most out of my appointment?

Doctors’ appointments are intended to cover one problem, or at the most, two. But quite a lot of people will go into the doctor with several problems at once – so then they over run.

Similarly, an appointment is designed for one patient. If you take someone else with you into your appointment, they should not use the opportunity to ask the doctor about their health problem too, otherwise again the appointment will over run, which affects the rest of the clinic.

The doctors here are very keen to let people have the time that their condition requires, but if people spend ages unnecessarily, or ‘save up’ issues until they’ve got a list of them, it is really unfair on both the doctor and the other patients in the waiting room – who may be feeling very poorly.

What is the answer? If you know in advance that you will need longer, or have several issues to discuss, please book a double appointment.
